Iris & Ivy first opened their doors in October 2022, by a Mother-Daughter Duo, originally from Mechanicsville. Due to changes in life, and a passion for flowers, the decision was made to open our own business!

To start, Kellie graduated from the University of Iowa in 2017 with a B.S. in Geoscience. Shortly upon graduation, Kellie took what she anticipated to be a temporary job working with flowers until she could find a job in her field of study. During this time she fell in love with her job and decided to pursue the field further. Over the subsequent years she took other jobs as a florist for various floral shops in the area. Due to some life changes following Covid, she decided to pursue another dream, owning her own business.

Lynn worked in various positions within the medical field for over 30 years before deciding it was time for her to take her life in a new direction. While she was initially unsure of what her next step would be, her decision to leave the medical field perfectly coincided with Kellie’s decision to open her own business.

That’s when it was decided the two would become partners in opening the business, with Kellie doing the designing, and Lynn coordinating things behind the scenes. 

While our business may be new, our experience and desire to grow is not. We very much look forward to what the future holds for Iris & Ivy and the growth we anticipate over the coming years.
